Before you go travelling it is always good to be prepared for the worst. The worst can sometimes be pretty awful; Hepatitis, Typhoid, Rabies, Encephalitus, Malaria, the list goes on! Both of our arms are bruised and tender from a barrage of injections over the last few weeks. Luckily there are only a few more to go but it has to be said we are not big fans of needles. Just thought I should point out though; if you are planning on going travelling any time soon make sure you check what injections you need with your GP well in advance. It can take a couple of months to get everything sorted out. There is of course a cost for all this, our preparations came in at around £400 each, which hurts a whole lot more than those needles!

A taste of South East Asia
This is just teasing us! I recently found this video treat while browsing some travel blogs. If South East Asia is anything like this then I'm sure we're going to love it!!
Created by Ivan Vania and featuring the music of Yann Tiersen, the video shows the sights of Thailand Cambodia and Vietnam. Excellent work by Ivan - it just makes you want to get on a plane and go explore...

Welcome to the Globefest Blog
Globefest is a travel blog, following the adventures of Daniel Sweeney and Kristofer Shadbolt (and all of the people that we meet) as we travel around the world. If all goes to plan (fingers crossed) we will visit Japan, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Malaysian Borneo, Australia and New Zealand in the next two years before planning our onward journey through the Americas.
This blog will follow Danny and Shad every step of the way, allowing you to join in the action and share in the incredible sights, sounds and experiences we encounter. It's going to be a very exciting adventure no matter what happens so please sign up for updates and keep in touch!
